Reese is a sassy and sweet five-year-old little girl. She loves superheroes and princesses, riding her four-wheeler and playing outside. On September 20, 2017 – the day before her fourth birthday – Reese was diagnosed with pre B Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). She was then treated with chemotherapy, but still had high-risk cytogenetic markers associated with her specific type of leukemia. Therefore, in order to save her life she had to have a bone marrow transplant on March 7, 2018. Since her transplant Reese is home and healthy and CANCER FREE! During her cancer journey, Wesley Children's Foundation provided support for the Horn family. Below is a message from April Horn, Reese's mother:"The support we received from our friends, family, community and organizations like the Wesley Children's Foundation really helped us through this trying time. The financial support alone is very helpful to us, but the events the Foundation funds are wonderful to help Reese and our family through this! She loves the art therapy and music therapy programs. All the support has helped her blossom into a social, fun loving little girl despite facing cancer. The support really is a light to us in this dark time!"
